Ice & Frost

A man pours gasoline in a trail leading from a parked truck in the woods. He then throws his lit cigar on the gas pile igniting the truck. Different lighting passes for the fire that would be on the truck were recorded from a fixed location for compositing ease. Practice compositing by adding cigar smoke as well as a fiery explosion for when the truck catches fire. You can also add in some rain to make the scene a bit more dramatic.

Energy Bursts

A team of soldiers begin their retreat as one of their own is shot and falls to the ground. The other soldiers band together to drag him through the woods while dodging enemy fire. They retaliate as they run and kill one of the assailants, forcing the other to retreat. This scene has many opportunities to practice your VFX skills.
